NOIDA: Three officials of an old-age home in Bilaspur village in Greater Noida run by the social welfare department of the UP government have been booked for allegedly gang-raping a former sanitation worker eight months ago.
The cleaner had levelled allegations of gangrape and conspiracy against the officials. She had told police that the chairman and the manager of the old-age home allegedly locked her in a room and raped her while another woman employee helped them in the crime.
An FIR has been registered in the case on directions of the Surajpur court, eight months after the woman approached police for help.
The woman claimed that the incident happened at the old-age home, which is run by an NGO called the Jan Kalyan Parishad, on May 5 last year.
Additional DCP (Greater Noida) Vishal Pandey told TOI that an FIR has been lodged against the accused under IPC sections 376D (gangrape).
Meanwhile, the chairman of the old-age home has denied the allegations and claimed that they were not present at the site at the time of the alleged crime.
